I'll open the debate from an advertising perspective.... 1/3 down the screen is the ideal real estate for advertising. Think grocery store - all the expensive cereal is eye level. Now that said, we fervently agree that the priority should be given to aesthetics over advertising - unless it's at the expense of advertising, taxes and mortgage, taxes and mortgage. Oh, and y'all on 800x600, you're going to have to upgrade soon. You're down to 5% of the market, just give in and let that ole screen rez go the way of the dinosaur. Personally I'm at 1920x1200 - I can't remember the last time a site went all the way across my screen. Granted I'm squinting like a bat in the desert, but at least I can watch television, IM, and blog without going to a second monitor (that's for email :) ) Point – Counterpoint.
